Thank you to the Dakota County Regional Chamber of Commerce for organizing the City Council Candidate Forum on Thursday, October 19, and thank you to the City of Rosemount for hosting the event in Council Chambers.

Some key differences emerged between myself and the other candidates during this forum, and I encourage residents to take the time to watch the entirety of the recording of the event, which is embedded below. If you are pressed for time, I recommend viewing the following sequences:

37:38 - 47:02 - Project Bigfoot

The three candidates weigh in with their responses to Question 5: There has been much discussion on a new project being planned for Rosemount, called Project Bigfoot within the City and in print as the Meta/Facebook operation. Given what you know of the project as of today, do you support this direction. Why or why not?

My response begins at the 41:00 mark, where I share my opinions on the current status of Project Bigfoot, and my perspective on potential outcomes. The important distinction here is that I demonstrate an understanding of the community & economic development process, without a rush to judgment or speculation.

47:03 - 54:43 LifeTime Fitness & PDPW Projects

Here, the candidates share their perspectives regarding Question 6: The City’s LifeTime partnership is certainly innovative and the City announced plans to build a large Public Works and Police shared facility. What are your thoughts on these two initiatives, and do/did you support them? Why or why not?

My response begins at 47:25. These projects are very different, and the reasoning behind supporting them are very different.

56:14 - 58:37 Closing Statement

Here, I summarize three key differentiators between myself and the other two candidates: 1) Proven, 2) Experienced, and 3) Nonpartisan.
